[BEND, Ore., January 29, 2025] Local nonprofit Partners In Care invites community members in Central Oregon to its revamped, in-person education series this year. For the past 17 years, Partners In Care has been providing no-cost community education on a myriad of topics such as preparing for end of life, facing a serious illness, and caregiver tips and resources.
The first community education class of 2025 “Script Your Future: Why You Need an Estate Plan” is February 5 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Wyatt Room at Partners In Care. Community members will learn about wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives – and their importance. The experts speaking have years of experience guiding people on this topic and will address questions such as: I have a will, is that enough? What should be included in my plan? How do taxes factor into my plan? What is the best timetable for charitable giving?
Trent W Oki, CFP®, ChFC®, Mark Schang, CFP®, CRPC®, and Jeff Patterson, LL.M, join Partners In Care for this event to answer community members’ questions and provide free guidance on estate planning. Touchmark at Pilot Butte will be catering a free, light lunch for attendees.
“The community education series at Partners In Care demonstrates our continued commitment to cultivating a culture of holistic wellness in Central Oregon. By partnering with local organizations and experts, we hope to provide the information and resources necessary for an enriched and meaningful life,” said Simeon Rose, Partners In Care community relations specialist.
Community Education classes will be offered quarterly, with different topics being presented May 7, August 6, and November 5. Future classes will be shared on the Partners In Care website at www.partnersbend.org/community-education/
RSVPs are encouraged. Call (541) 706-1335 or email communityevents@partnersbend.org to RSVP.
In addition to community education classes, Partners In Care is offering an in-person Caregiver Café starting February 11 from 11 a.m. to noon and occurring the second Tuesday of each month following. Those caring for a loved one, friend, neighbor, or anyone acting as a caregiver can come together in a support group of other caregivers to share ideas, navigate challenges, and simply meet others in a similar situation, all in a safe, supportive environment at Partners In Care.
